WHAT IS FUTUREPRIMITIVE ALL ABOUT?
Let's take a trip down memory lane. Back in 2006, when I embarked on my soap-making journey, I was heavily influenced by skateboarding. My all-time favorite skate video is "Future Primitive" by Powell Peralta. I was captivated by the clever wordplay in the title, which led me to choose it as the name for my soap business.
My objective was to craft soaps using traditional methods using fats, oils, organic butters, and lye solution, whilst infusing a futuristic twist into other skincare products that would complement my soap bars. Thus, FuturePrimitive was born.
Collaborating closely with my chemist, I crafted handmade soaps, and later, I innovated the creation of whipped cream soaps, a unique and unprecedented offering in the market. Additionally, I developed a captivating line of oil-based perfumes, each infused with a fresh and intriguing twist.
Many of my bespoke scents have become cult classics among the indie scent community, Rook & Raven being at the forefront of the perfumery line, and White Witch being the number one selling soap of all time.
Scent can transport us to places we've visited, or remind us of loved ones, or indulge us in memories from our childhood. I base my hand-blended scents on my love of the old. Imagine apothecary shops, old town libraries, spit 'n sawdust pubs, folklore, grocers on street corners, and curios shops down cobbled back streets. Imagine the sights, the sounds, the aromas. Cast yourself back to a time when the pace of life was slower, summers felt longer, and life was full of surprises and unbounded hope.
