Description
Elijah Comfort, the Great Great Grandfather of my husband, played a significant role in the legacy of Winchcombe Pottery during the 1930s when he worked alongside the renowned Michael Cardew. Today, my husband carries forward this family tradition as he diligently crafts domestic stoneware at the very same pottery. In addition to his contributions to the classic stoneware, he has also created his own line of slipware pottery—a style that once catapulted Winchcombe Pottery to fame.
This soap serves as a heartfelt tribute to Elijah's remarkable craftsmanship, which was characterized by the use of red earthenware clay. Comprising red clay and delicate dried roses, it embodies the essence of his artistry and dedication, creating a product that not only honors his legacy but also embodies the heritage of Winchcombe Pottery.
