As the world calms after the festive season, January gives us the time needed to reflect. It is a time for quietness here at FP. A time to restock products that have sold out, and a time to decide which offerings to include for the year ahead.
Our town has been hit by mass flooding. This has allowed us to take some long walks to admire the wildlife and the stillness that the water brings. Along with the water, we have heavy frost. The sun is shining again today (Jan 9th) bringing with it a very welcome blue sky! There are some pretty fancy patterns in the puddles left behind from the worst of the flood.
Since being back in the shop, I've already started on production, and there will be some new soaps coming in the next week or two, many of which are restocks from our Primitive Collection. Each batch of soap has been made with pure essential oils, clays and botanicals. They've all been such a pleasure to create, and I've especially enjoyed the scents of the oils. A most welcome breath of natural simplicity.
This year, I am working on a new body cream formula, which I hope to launch by April. I'll update again as we get nearer to completion. This new formula will be our best one yet, with ingredients that are simple, yet effective. The formula will not move too far away from our current one, but will include some nicer ingredients for product glide.
As I type, we are still waiting for our approval to come through for EU shipments. I hope that won't be too much longer. We have to wait for our RP (responsible person) to upload our files to the EU Cosmetics Portal before we can ship items again. There will be a limited amount on offer to our European customers to start with, but we will grow that list as quickly as possible. We have to pay for each product line to be included, then we have to send over all relevant files to be uploaded. It's a lot of work on both ends. All of our labels have to include our RP address so that in itself is a lengthy process. Once all is in place we are ready to go and the work after this initial period will be minimal.
That's all for now. Happy New Year, and here's to a wonderful 2025!
