WHAT IS FUTUREPRIMITIVE ALL ABOUT?

FP is a small bath & body care business specialising in creating traditional handmade soap, complimentary bathing goods and perfumery. Founded by Tiggy Fiander in 2006, FP quickly became a beloved indie gem through word of mouth. The appeal being the hand-blended scents made with natural, sustainable ingredients. Each aroma has a back story, entwined with an otherworldly feel. One of escapism, a certain quietness, and wonderment.

Scent can transport us to places we've visited, or remind us of loved ones, or indulge us in memories from our childhood. I base my hand-blended scents on my love of the old. Imagine apothecary shops, old town libraries, spit 'n sawdust pubs, industrial factories, folklore, grocers on street corners, and curios shops down cobbled back streets. Imagine the sights, the sounds, the aromas. Cast yourself back to a time when the pace of life was slower, summers felt longer, and life was full of surprises and unbounded hope. Join me in glancing upward - giving a silent nod to our ancestors and the families who once ran the high streets we came to know and love.

Why the name?

Let's take a trip down memory lane. Back in 2006, when my soap-making adventure began, I was heavily influenced by skateboarding. My all-time favorite skate video is "Future Primitive" by Powell Peralta. That name stuck with me. It felt like the perfect blend of nostalgia and forward-thinking, and I thought it would make a great name for a soap business. A brand rooted in old-world charm, but with a fresh, modern twist brought to life through unique, contemporary scents. And so, FuturePrimitive was born—a tribute to the past, with both eyes on the future.
